I wrote this piece in the spring of 2012, during my first year of music school. The original title was inspired by a trip to the beautiful High Coast of northern Sweden.

Shortly after it was finished, my maternal grandfather, to whom I was very close, passed away. Being a shy bedroom bassist up until then, I don't think I ever really played my bass for him to hear. This still pains me sometimes.

I played the piece at his funeral and since then it has been his.

10 years to the day after my grandfathers passing, I'm happy to finally share this tribute to him.
